97 people have died this morning after falling off the edge of Malta, due to the country being full up.
The fatalities occurred all along the coastline, as the sheer number of people now living in Malta forced the victims to the edge of cliffs, where they plummeted to their deaths.
Several hundred people are currently inches away from meeting a similar fate, while people living in the centre of the country are being crushed and suffocated by the ever-growing mass of people.
“If you live in a coastal town I’m afraid it’s only a matter of time before you too are jostled into the sea and drowned,” said Civil Protection Department chief Emmanuel Psaila, adding that emergency workers could not prevent the deaths due to the huge amount of people in their way.”
“If the population keeps on swelling we expect there to be at least 2,000 deaths a day. We really are full up,” he said.
Authorities are also concerned that the fact no one in Malta now has more than 30 square centimetres of personal space means social distancing is now impossible, which will cause Covid-19 to spread at an uncontrollable rate.
The government is considering shipping people to Filfla and Fungus Rock in Gozo to alleviate the pressure.
“We warned you Malta was full up, but you bleeding heart liberals didn’t listen. This is all Bernard Grech’s fault. If he had just agreed, we could’ve done something about it,” said Prime Minister Robert Abela before escaping on board his yacht.
