Maltese police issue arrest warrant for man in Joom ads

The Malta Police Force has issued a European arrest warrant for the man who appears in the Joom adverts on Youtube.

An investigation by the police’s Cyber Crimes Unit found that, over the past few months, the man had been interrupting people’s Youtube videos with his unsolicited offer of thousands of cheap electronic items made in China.

“With this warrant, we hope to finally apprehend the man whose annoying face, annoying voice and annoying offer have caused such distress to thousands of people in Malta,” Police Commissioner Angelo Gafà said during a press conference this afternoon.

“I myself have been affected several times – most recently just before this press conference, when my video of Malta’s Got Talent highlights was cut short by the now all-too-familiar ‘Hey look whorra fou on Joom. Sooooo awesome.’

Gafà said a team of Maltese officers had been sent to Latvia, where Joom has its headquarters.

“It’s a good thing I’m not going with them, because if I got ever got my hands on him, I would shove his sooo many electronic items down his throat.”

Gafà said the effort to detain Joom Man were part of the reforms he had instituted since become commissioner.

“People will no doubt ask why we hadn’t arrested Sarah Zerafa when she had done the ‘Hangry and fencying takeaway?’ ad. But that was under a different commissioner, who, as we all know, fencied fenkata takeaway quite a bit.

“Mark my words – if Zerafa makes another annoying ad, we’ll grab her quicker than she grabs her bottle of fake tan.”
