Bernard Grech puts off shadow cabinet reshuffle again to water yucca

Opposition leader Bernard Grech has once again put off appointing his shadow cabinet to water his yucca tree.

Grech is yet to choose his own set of shadow spokespeople since replacing Adrian Delia as PN leader three months ago.

While The Times reported that Grech had started the process today, he has now reportedly stopped again to tend to his favourite house plant.

“This morning we finally got him to sit down and start choosing his team, but after picking the first name, he became flustered and said his yucca was thirsty and he needed to go home immediately to water it,” a PN source told Bis-Serjetà.

“When we told him yuccas only need to be watered once every two weeks, he started crying and said that just because he had entered politics, that didn’t mean he could just abandon his plants.”

According to Grech’s wife, the PN leader’s apparent procrastination has greatly benefitted the family.

“I thought him becoming leader meant we wouldn’t see him as much, but it’s actually been great. Every time I tell him he should probably get around to that reshuffle, he does something around the house. He’s painted the kitchen, re-paved the garden and made a cabinet from scratch. An actual wooden cabinet, I mean. He took carpentry classes and everything,” she said.

At the time of writing, Grech acknowledged he had been shirking his responsibilities as PN leader, and would focus more on the party by re-wiring the entirety of Dar Ċentrali to make it more energy efficient.
