Robert Abela has a headache, the government has announced.
Addressing an urgently called press conference, a spokesman for the Office of the Prime Minister said Abela was feeling poorly and as such was unable to take journalists’ questions.
“It’s a very bad headache. The kind of headache that means you can’t face the nation and take responsibility for your decisions.”
Asked whether a medical professional had indicated when Abela might start feeling better, the spokesman replied:
“Probably in about a year or two, so please don’t disturb him until then.”
The spokesperson clarified that anything positive that happened in the meantime was down to Abela.
“So make sure to praise him and write plenty of ‘Prosit Prim aħna warajk GWS’ on Facebook, as that will probably heal him.”
At the time of writing, Abela was reported to be feeling better, after being told a prolonged absence would mean Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne would have to take charge.
