President George Vella has agreed to have the Doctors For Life logo projected onto his face whenever he appears in public.
The group of anti-abortion medics were inspired to create the advert by Heritage Malta’s now-deleted post on Facebook, in which the organisation seemed to issue a call for companies to project their ads onto Fort St Angelo.
As part of the agreement, his Excellency has had a purpose-built projector fitted to his head, which he will wear to all official engagements for the rest of his four-year term.
“As a member of Doctors For Life myself, I’m more than happy to act as the group’s human billboard.” the President said.
“[President Emeritus] Marie Louise Coleiro Preca used her presidency as a platform to promote social justice and equality, and I intend to use mine to spout off about what women can and can’t do with their bodies,” His Excellency added.
The NGO said they had also asked the Commissioner for Children to show the ad on her face, but she had refused.
“As per our values, we will now kidnap her and tattoo the logo on her face,” a spokesman for the group said.
