Maltese man refuses to stop wearing summer clothes

A Maltese man is staunchly refusing to stop wearing summer clothes despite the weather turning cooler in recent days.

Self-described ‘summer person’ Matthew Grima, 32, from Xemxija says he will continue to wear t-shirts, shorts and flip-flops both indoors and out, no matter how cold it gets.

“This summer will last forever and you won’t convince me otherwise. You can’t make me wear jeans or put on a jacket, or stop walking around the flat barefoot. You can’t I tell you!”, Grima said from his home office, despite admitting to feeling slightly cold today.

“And I’ll be damned if I stop sleeping with the fan on, let alone put it away. I need to hear that comforting whirring sound all year round. It keeps me from having to listen to my own thoughts.”

Grima added that he would not even be deterred by the stormy weather forecast for the weekend.

“A bit of torrential rain and flooding won’t make me put on a jacket and closed shoes. I might even go for a swim. Summer forever baby! God bless climate change!” he said.
