The new Partit Demokratiku leader (PD) is set to be this adorable Labrador puppy.
The post of party leader became vacant following the resignations of Godfrey and Marlene Farrugia on Sunday.
Since no other candidate stepped forward to take the reins, the post was given to the four-month-old puppy, which belongs to a young member of the Farrugia family.
Although the puppy has not yet commented publicly on what direction he intends to take PD in, it is believed he will be looking to re-energise the party by looking adorable, chewing squeaky toys and going for walks.
It is also unclear whether the puppy will move to form a coalition with other small parties in Malta, such as Alternattiva Demokratika, currently led by a bushy-browed cacopard, or the Nationalist Party, led by a blue tit.
Additionally, the pupper has so far remained mum on rumours that he will change the party’s name to Partit Demokratiwuf.
