Jason Azzopardi has mistakenly blamed the Marsa power station for a plume of smoke coming out of his own toaster.
Azzopardi posted an image of the kitchen of his Paola home engulfed in black smoke on Facebook, with the caption:
“My house in Paola, right now. Didn’t he [Joseph Muscat] say the cancer factory was no more? Give him a round of applause.”
While Paola is only a stone’s throw away from Marsa, the origin of the fumes could clearly be seen in the photo itself.
Azzopardi’s maid confirmed the source of the smoke to be two pieces of bread which had become lodged in the toaster.
Asked for a comment, she said: “I just work for Mr Azzopardi. I’m not responsible for the shit he comes out with,” she said.
“I do know he bought the toaster for five euro from Lidl though, the cheap bastard.”
At the time of writing, Azzopardi had just posted a photo of the bush fires in Australia, also blaming the smoke on the Marsa power station.
