Joseph Muscat has made a surprise appearance at the White House this evening, telling journalists that the missile attack by Iran on American bases in Iraq last night was none of their business.
It was expected that US President Donald Trump would brief the press on the attack during a press conference. However, it was Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat who unexpectedly took to the podium, with Trump nowhere to be seen.
“I’m just here to tell you that America’s ongoing dispute with Iran, including the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, Iran’s revenge attack and any further retaliation by the US, are none of your business. Why don’t you go and ask China what they’re doing? Thank you and goodbye,” he said, before leaving through a side door.
Muscat’s unannounced appearance in Washington DC was his fifth trip abroad in the past two weeks, after travelling to Rome, Bethlehem, Dubai and London.
Sources say the Prime Minister is now expected to fly to the Iranian capital of Tehran, where he will tell Boeing that the crash of one of their planes in suspicious circumstances is also none of their business.
