A man has asked when the protest against female domestic abusers will be held, despite never organising or attending a protest himself.
The man, 23-year-old Edward Zerafa, was reacting to a spontaneous protest held last night after the brutal murder of a woman by her ex-partner in Zabbar.
“Everyone kicks up a fuss every time a man lifts a finger against a woman, but where’s the protest against women who abuse men?” Zerafa asked, seemingly unaware that he can organise a protest for any cause he likes, at a time and place of his choosing.
“I bet if a woman murdered a man, there wouldn’t be a protest,” he added, despite not being able to recall the last time a woman murdered a man in cold blood in Malta.
“I just don’t think we have the full picture. We need to know more of the context,” Zerafa said about an incident where a man took a knife to a bar and stabbed a woman in the head.
Zerafa insisted it was pure coincidence that he previously didn’t attend such protests as the one against over-development, or the protests related to the political crisis two months ago, citing Manuel Delia’s involvement as the reason for the latter.
“There’s never been a protest that I can say I’m 100 percent on board with,” insisted Zerafa, who also asks “When is it International Men’s Day?” on International Women’s Day every year without fail.
When pressed further, Zerafa said: “You’re just virtue signalling to try and get laid.”
