Joseph Muscat: We only used WhatsApp group to share nudes and dank memes

Joseph Muscat has insisted that the WhatsApp group he was in with Keith Schembri and Yorgen Fenech was only used to share nudes and dank memes.

The existence of the chat group was revealed earlier today by Lovin Malta. While Muscat confirmed he was in a group with the other two men, he denied it was used for anything untoward.

“What’s wrong with a trio of lads having a WhatsApp group in which we swap photos of our naked wives and share the latest dank memes and the occasional slightly racist video?” Muscat said.

“I can assure you, there was no corruption talk or murder banter. Each one of us had his own specialty. Yorgen would often post Pepe the Frog memes, while Keith mostly shared Rick and Morty edits. Me? My thing was Star Wars prequel memes.”

The former prime minister also insisted that, for most of its existence, no one else formed part of the group.

“One time Yorgen added Silvio Valletta but he started posting rage comics from the early 2010s. It was really cringe and I removed him straight away. Then Keith added Neville but he was constantly sharing nudes of other women, whereas we had a spouses only policy, so he had to go too.”

Muscat lamented the lack of locally created memes, and said that, now that he had resigned from being Prime Minister, he would work to improve the local dank meme scene.

“I mean sure there’s Maltese Moms Against Memes but they’re a bit derivative to be honest,” he said, adding that he did not recognise the Malta Pastizziposting group because he had not been invited to join it.

“I’m going to start my own group called Neoliberal Memes For Recently Resigned Prim’s.”
