Adrian Delia has asked a football with a face painted onto it to confirm that he will never abandon him.
Delia asked the ball, which he borrowed from Birkirkara FC, daubed with red paint and christened Henry, to reaffirm its loyalty to him following the resignation of Clyde Puli – one of his closest allies in the party – from the post of secretary general.
“You’ll never leave me, will you Henry? Good, I knew I could count on your support. You’ll always be by my side, not like those other rats,” he said while holding the ball close to his face.
“We can run the party just fine on our own. We don’t need anyone else, do we? You’ll make a great secretary general, treasurer and general council president. And who knows, maybe one day you’ll even be Deputy Prime Minister. How about that?”
At the time of writing, Henry the ball had just rolled down a hill and into the sea.
