Former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has phoned the government customer care number 153 to ask where his god damn bread and milk cheque is.
Muscat was referring to the bonus of 35 euros that is being sent to families to compensate for the rise in the prices of bread and milk.
However, not everyone has received their cheque in the post yet, with the ex-prime minister being one of them.
“Hey Servizz.gov, I just looked in my letter box for the fifth time today and guess what, still no god damn bread-and-milk cheque. What’s taking so long?” asked an infuriated Muscat, adding that he had been on hold for the past 10 minutes.
“Don’t you know I have a family to feed? I’m barely managing to make ends meet at the moment. What am I supposed to tell Soleil and Etoile when they look up at me all sallow-faced and say with trembling voices, “Papa, why can’t we have a sandwich and a glass of milk before we leave for Dubai? We’re so hungry and our bones so brittle due to calcium deficiency.””
Muscat said that if he did not receive the cheque within the next 24 hours, he would be seeking legal advice from top international attorney Saad Djebbar, as he has done in the past.
“It means I’ll have to go to London again, but I will stop at nothing to get the 35 euros I’m owed,” he said.
