Labour Party media have confirmed they will carry on mentioning the so-called ‘Fazzjoni Busuttil’ despite it being total bullshit and Simon Busuttil not being an MP or in Malta anymore.
‘Fazzjoni Busuttil’ (the Busuttil Faction) is the term used by Labour media to lump together all Nationalist MPs who oppose incumbent leader Adrian Delia, with Busuttil as its nominal ringleader.
However, Busuttil has now resigned from parliament and will be moving to Brussels to take up a senior role in the European People’s Party.
“Just because Simon’s left the scene doesn’t mean we’ll never mention him again. Far from it,” ONE chairman Jason Micallef told Bis-Serjetà.
“Even if he never comments on local politics again, we’ll now portray him as a meddler interfering from abroad, with Karol Aquilina as his puppet in Malta,” he said.
When asked to confirm if this would be similar to the way the Turkish government portrays dissident Fethullah Gülen, or the character of Emmanuel Goldstein in Nineteen Eighty-Four, Micallef replied that he only reads Il-Gwida and Gerard James Borg novels and therefore did not know who those people were.
Micallef also confirmed that ONE will carry on pretending to defend Adrian Delia.
“Karl Stagno Navarra [no relation] and the rest of our stellar journalists will continue shit-stirring and expressing fake concern for Delia in the hope of keeping him around till the next election.
