A Swedish igaming employee who quarantined himself after travelling to Italy has not worn pants for the past two weeks.

Sven Svensson, a 28-year-old web developer who works for MegaBettingSlots in Sliema, is reaching the end of the voluntary quarantine he undertook after returning from a holiday in Florence on February 26.

“The best part of working from home and not being able to leave the flat is that I haven’t worn pants for the past 13 days. It’s been so liberating,” said Svensson.

“Admittedly it’s been a bit cold at times, but as they like to say in America, freedom isn’t free.”

Svensson also admitted that, during one meeting last week, which he took part in via Skype, he didn’t wear anything from the waist down.

“I usually struggle to be assertive in the workplace, but I felt like I was able to get my opinions across more confidently knowing that I was the only one who knew my Swedish meatballs were hanging loose,” he said.

The Swede said he hoped the virus would eventually bring about important societal changes.

“Everyone’s hoping Covid-19 will lead to employers being more accepting of remote working. But honestly, working from home is a bit lonely, so instead, I think we should all go into work as normal, but without pants. A lot of people have nightmares where they suddenly realise they went into work or school without wearing pants, but for me it’s the dream. The pantsless revolution starts here,” he said.
