While the Maltese government hasn’t yet ordered a mandatory lockdown due to Covid-19, many people are choosing to do so voluntarily and not shutting up about it on Facebook.
Because we’re Malta’s best public servants, we’ve come up with five fun things you can do while hunkered down for the weekend, aside from making a big song and dance about staying in and watching Netflix.
Read Bis-Serjetà articles
Congratulations! You’re doing this one already.
If you’re new, we have many other articles you can read. When it comes to political stories, we write about both Labour and PN, so whatever your ridiculous tribal bias is, there’s something for you.
If you’re a regular, why not while away the hours by revisiting your favourite articles?
Share Bis-Serjetà articles
Arguably the worst part of being forced to isolate yourself is the loneliness, so use this opportunity to bond with your friends over one of our articles.
The things we write also tend to make certain sections of the population very angry (we have no idea why), so if you’d rather divide people than bring them together, why not send them something they’ll hate?
Whichever option you go for, you can use the Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp buttons on the right-hand side of the article to spread the seriousness.
Like and comment on the Bis-Serjetà Facebook page
Have you ever wondered why you can go weeks without seeing one of our articles or images on your newsfeed? That’s because Facebook’s algorithm (Praise Be Unto It) is a capricious god who gives you what you love one minute, and deprives you of it the next.
When dealing with the algorithm (Praise Be Unto It), we find the best way to get it to give you what you want is by liking, commenting and sharing. We’ve also tried human sacrifice but results were inconclusive.
Join the ‘Bis-Serjetà Hardcore Fans’ Facebook group
There’s a place on Facebook where intellectually superior beings congregate to discuss the latest Bis-Serjetà articles, as well as the less-important wider world. This place is the Bis-Serjetà Hardcore Fans group.
Think of it like The Salott but with fewer boomers (as all places soon will be, to be fair) and questions about Lidl opening hours.
Contribute to the Bis-Serjetà Serious News Fund
Now that you have a bit of time on your hands, why not ensure that we can carry on writing insightful articles like this one by making a small financial contribution on Paypal? Bis-Serjetà is an independent website that isn’t owned by any company, so your contribution would go a long way to helping us continue what we’re doing.
Right now, we aren’t able to offer any tangible benefits other than the articles we’re already writing. However, provided we’re all still alive and aren’t living in some kind of plague-riddled fascist dystopia, this should change within the next few months. We were in talks with a few small Maltese companies to offer some added benefits to our subscribers (including merchandise), but then nature went and gave us a timely reminder of how insignificant we all are.
Rest assured that if you donate now, you’ll still be entitled to those benefits when they do arrive. To contribute now, click here.
