Journalists in Malta are preparing to copy and paste their previous articles about Adrian Delia surviving another vote of confidence, as PN MPs meet once again this evening to discuss the party leader’s future.
Delia’s position as Opposition leader is once again being called into question, following the release of several Whatsapp exchanges between himself and Yorgen Fenech.
“Why would I write a whole new article about Adrian Delia staying on as PN leader when I could just copy and paste the one I wrote last year, the same one I’ve always used since then?” Times of Malta journalist Ivan Martin told Bis-Serjetà.
“I barely have to change anything. Anti-Delia faction calls meeting. Said meeting described as ‘make or break’. Majority of PN parliamentary group strongly rumoured to be against Delia. Azzopardi and the rest walk into Dar Ċentrali looking all smug. Anti-Delia faction demands vote of confidence, despite no alternative leader being put forward. Vote happens. Some ‘rebel’ MPs chicken out and vote for Delia. Rinse and repeat again in a few months,” he said.
“I’ve polished my Ctrl, A, C and V keys so I can be the first to break the news, if you can call it news,” said Newsbook reporter Monique Agius.
“We aren’t even bothering with copying and pasting and will instead be re-sharing last year’s article. It’s not like there will be any difference anyway,” said Maltatoday editor Matthew Vella.
Meanwhile, ONE TV have confirmed that they will be showing a live discussion show where several government ministers and Labour journalists will take it in turns to say how much they feel sorry for Adrian Delia while trying their best to keep a straight face.
