Suspected BOV hacker asked if he could steal Adrian Delia

A Nigerian influencer suspected of being linked to the theft of €13 million from Bank of Valletta has been asked if he could steal PN leader Adrian Delia.

Ramon “Hushpuppi” Abbas was arrested in Dubai and extradited to the US after being accused of various financial crimes, including stealing and laundering €13 million from an unidentified bank in February last year, the same amount that was stolen from BOV in the same month.

The request to steal Delia was made by PN MP Jason Azzopardi – a leading figure of the anti-Delia faction in the party – and was revealed after Azzopardi accidentally sent the email to Bis-Serjetà instead of Abbas.

“Dear Mr Hushpuppi, I heard that you’re good at stealing. Could you please steal a man called Adrian Delia? You can lure him into a crate with a bottle of Scotch and then take him back to Dubai to use as a slave. If you agree, I will get you out of prison because I am a good lawyer. Yours sincerely, Jason Azzopardi,” the email read.

This is not the first time Azzopardi has attempted to get rid of Delia covertly. During last year’s PN leadership crisis, he is reported to have asked an employee at Tex-Mex restaurant Amigos if he could pass on a message to infamous Mexican drug lord El Chapo asking to ‘liquidate’ the Opposition leader.
