American rapper Kanye West has told Franco Debono to rein in his ego.
West, who has won 21 GRAMMY awards, is also known for his eccentric – and often egocentric – outbursts. He recently announced he would be running for US President.
However, the rapper expressed concern over Debono’s behaviour.
“I’ve been watching this Franco guy’s videos and reading his stuff, and I’m like, “Wow, and people say I’m self-involved!” said West, who has previously described himself as the greatest artist God has ever created.
“I don’t know why he has to constantly mention his achievements, how he’s been proven right, and go on about how many people support him.
“I mean sure, say that stuff once, twice. But if you keep repeating it, people are going to start thinking you’re an insecure narcissist with a chip on your shoulder. Rein in that ego, man.”
The rapper offered to help Debono deal with his pride.
“Maybe we could record a song together, Yeezy and Freezy. Or I could persuade Ralph Lauren to let him design a custom polo shirt. Anything to keep his mind occupied so he’s not reporting people for hate speech against him, you know.”
West also emphasised that he respected Debono’s abilities as a lawyer.
“If I ever get into any shit like R. Kelly, I know who to call,” he said.
