A man who describes himself as being pro-choice has used the slogan ‘no uterus, no opinion’.
James Mangion, 32, from Msida, is in favour of the legalisation of abortion in Malta.
“I believe that if you aren’t a woman, your views on abortion are irrelevant. No uterus, no opinion!” Mangion wrote on Facebook, using the expression that originated from 90s sitcom Friends.
“Seriously, men need to stop sticking their noses in and telling women what to do with their bodies. Am I right ladies?” he continued.
Mangion’s post prompted several of his female friends to express their agreement.
“Too true – men have no right to an opinion when it comes to abortion. It’s not as if we need them to make babies in the first place,” one friend replied.
“If I got pregnant, I wouldn’t even tell my husband before going to get an abortion. His opinion means nothing, after all,” added another.
