A man on Facebook has asked why Maltese journalists and the people they are speaking to ‘ma jittkelmhux bill-Malti?’
“Ahna mux MALTA edin???? Mela tkelmu bill-MALTI muwx bl-Inglijz kem andkom qzisati!!” commented Kevin Deguara under a Facebook Live Stream by Lovin Malta.
It is not clear why Deguara is asking people to ‘kelmu bill-Malti’, as English is an official language of Malta, while foreign journalists were also present during the live stream.
“Ma jimpurtahniex, daw linglizati muwx postom f’MALTA. Basta Loving MALTA. Kem idejaqkhom il lingwa MALTIJJA???”
When another person pointed out to Deguara that his Maltese was less than perfect for someone who was promoting the use of Maltese, he replied:
“Foxx dik illiba omok kem andek hara sihbi. Isa insibekk barra jek andek bajt eja aaa pufta kolok.”
