Apple Maps car driver suffering from PTSD after day on Malta’s roads

The driver of the Apple Maps car that was spotted driving around Malta last week is being treated for post-traumatic stress disorder after spending a day on the country’s roads.

The car, equipped with a 360-degree camera, is in Malta to create a library of images for the tech giant’s Maps app.

However, the project hit a snag after just 24 hours because the car’s driver, Chris Anderson, was traumatised by what he experienced.

“Is this what it’s like every day? During the first hour, I was almost crashed into at least three times, once by a construction truck,” he said, while visibly shell-shocked.

“Do stop signs and speed limits mean nothing to you people? As a matter of fact, the entire highway code seems to be treated as a work of fiction,” he added.

Pedestrians were also not spared from the driver’s ire.

“At the rate I saw people crossing the road without looking first, I’m starting to suspect that you people aren’t a bunch of raging psychopaths, but Maltese society is in fact so technologically advanced that you’ve developed invisible shields that protect both people and cars. It’s the only way I can explain your complete disregard for your own safety. Either that or God really loves the fact you built so many churches and spares the country from being littered with car wrecks and corpses.

At the time of writing, Anderson had to be sedated after being told about Malta’s attitude to drinking and driving.
