Baking your own bread is not a mandatory social distancing measure, Professor Charmaine Gauci has clarified.
The Superintendent for Public Health was speaking during her daily press conference on Covid-19.
“I’ve seen a lot of people posting photos of their homemade bread on Facebook and Instagram, and I just want to clarify that baking bread is not mandatory,” Prof Gauci said.
“I don’t know if maybe there was a misunderstanding, but you can still buy bread from bakeries, supermarkets, or wherever you normally buy it from. The police aren’t going to kick your door down because you bought a ftira. Just make sure you use the tongs provided and don’t grope all the loaves like some kind of filthy bread pervert,” she added.
“Far be it from me to tell people how to spend their time indoors. I just think there are better things to do than making something that’s readily available. It’s not like we live in the UK where all the bread is shit.”
Prof Gauci went on to say that racism is another thing that is not mandatory.
It’s really obvious that some of you were eagerly waiting for immigrants to start testing positive so you could somehow blame them for all this. Cut that shit out you racist fucks,” she said.
