Benna has unveiled a brand new carton of milk fortified with bastions.
The company, part of the KPH Group, said it was strengthening the defences around its flagship dairy product in the wake of threats by alternative milks such as oat, soy and almond.
The 16th-century-style fortifications, constructed in the middle of Ta’ Qali national park, consist of an enceinte with 10-metre-high bastions on each corner. A ditch on the inside of the bastions offers another layer of lactic security for the giant full-fat milk carton, while several cannon batteries provide counter-attacking measures.
“I’d like to see Alpro try and scale these walls,” said Benna CEO Martin Grech, adding that the milk-fort was equipped to withstand a siege of up to 12 months.
Grech added that, in the coming months, Benna would also be fortifying its other products.
“If Francesco Laparelli [the architect who designed Valletta] were alive today, he’d stare in awe at our Saint Ġbejna Cavalier. Cow milk is here to stay, baby.”
