Boris Johnson promises to sell Brexit to Malta if it fails

British Prime Minister-in-waiting Boris Johnson says he will sell Brexit to Malta if it fails.

When Johnson was the mayor of London, he sold a fleet of bendy buses to public transport operator Arriva. The much-maligned buses were prone to getting stuck and catching fire, and were eventually banned and scrapped by the Maltese government.

He has now promised to do the same with Brexit if it proves to be a failure.

“I fully intend to take the United Kingdom out of the European Union and make a roaring success out of Brexit,” Johnson told journalists after he was announced as the new Tory leader.

“However, in the unlikely event that it all goes belly up, I’ll do exactly what I did with those infernal bendy buses and sell Brexit to Malta. Those hairy, overweight pygmies will buy anything if it’s cheap enough. Have you ever seen them in the Oxford Street Primark? Animals, I tell you,” he added.

Reacting to Johnson’s statement, Joseph Muscat said:

“Sold!”
