Bis-Serjetà needs your help, it has emerged.
The appeal was made to you by Bis-Serjetà god-editor, Karl Stennienibarra.
“Despite my supernatural ability to consistently bring you the most serious news in Malta, my powers sadly do not extend to creating money out of thin air,” Stennienibarra said, adding that he once tried to conjure money out of thin air but only ended up with 57 Panini stickers from the 1998 World Cup, all of which were Colombia midfielder Carlos Valderama.
“That’s where you come in, dear reader. For as little as €2 a month, or one pastizz a week – you can support me on Patreon and help ensure that Bis-Serjetà continues to exist. If I don’t get enough funding, you will soon have to face the horror of Maltese current affairs without me,” he said.
Patreon is a reputable funding website used by artists, creators and serious journalists.
“Your contribution will be funding not only the articles I write, but also the countless images Bis-Serjetà posts to Facebook, as well as videos, which I know you want more of.”
Stennienibarra added that patrons would also get early access to said videos, as well as discounts on Bis-Serjetà merchandise, and vouchers from cool local companies.
“And if you opt for an annual subscription, you’ll save 16%,” he explained.
The god-editor emphasised that, while Bis-Serjetà was arguably the best news source in Malta, its reach was still relatively low, so each reader had to do their small part to keep it going.
“I know times are tough, but please support unique local content lovingly crafted for you,” he concluded, while reassuring readers that signing up takes less time than it took to read this article.
