A middle-aged male lawyer has been elected as the new leader of the Nationalist Party.
The lawyer received the backing of the majority of PN members, who have been casting their votes throughout the week.
Following his victory, the lawyer said he would now work to bring unity and a new sense of purpose to the fractured opposition party, while also offering his defeated opponent the opportunity to carry on working within the PN.
Despite the peace offering, many believe it will be impossible for the party’s two factions to reconcile.
The middle-aged male lawyer was elected despite serious questions surrounding his finances and his ability to provide a viable alternative to the Labour government.
