Celine Dion will play a dinosaur rampaging through Malta in the upcoming Jurassic World movie, Bis-Serjetà can reveal.
Dion will be performing live in concert in Malta on July 27 next year. However, she will also be in the country to film scenes for Jurassic World 3.
Bis-Serjetà is reliably informed that the plot of the third instalment of the franchise revolves around the DNA of the Canadian singer – who will be playing herself – being combined with that of a T-Rex to create a Dionasaurus – a new breed of singing dinosaur.
However, after meeting and falling in love with Dr Ian Malcolm, played by Jeff Goldblum, the Dionasaurus escapes from its high-security enclosure on Filfla, swims to the mainland and wreaks havoc across Malta while trying to find him.
While details of the precise storyline are under wraps, it is believed the climactic scene involves Dionasaurus climbing to the top of the Portomaso Tower in Paceville and belting out a soft-rock ballad.
Dion will be filming all the scenes herself in a motion capture suit.
Various Maltese politicians and public will act as dinosaur extras.
“We chose Malta not just because of the amazing scenery, but also because you have so many living fossils just walking around,” executive producer Steven Spielberg said.
