A man who contracted several sexually transmitted illnesses during a weekend-long hotel party has said Covid-19 is the last thing he needs right now.
Michael Spiteri, 20, attended the three-day ‘Hotel Takeover’ party at the Radisson Blu Resort in St. Julian’s last weekend. Yesterday, the health authorities announced another person who also attended the party had tested positive for Covid-19, with six more cases being found this morning.
“The party was amazing. I was wasted pretty much the whole three days, so I can’t even remember how many hot girls I banged. But when I woke up on Monday I felt a bit itchy, so I went to the GU clinic. Turns out I have herpes, chlamydia and gonorrhoea, as well as a urinary tract infection I must have got from the pool,” Spiteri said.
“Now they’re telling me I could have Covid-19 as well, which would suck. As you can see, I’m somewhat of a player, so having reduced lung capacity is not something I fancy.
“And what if I get Covid and it combines with all the STIs and turns me into a zombie or something?”
Spiteri also said he had not been to get tested yet.
“Believe me, I’ve been swabbed enough for one week.”
A friend of Spiteri’s cast doubt on his story.
“He didn’t fuck anyone at the party. He got all that from a cheap prostitute in Gżira,” the friend insisted.
