The sign-language interpreter in the Covid-19 press conferences is celebrating after managing to escape from her box in the corner of the screen, while trapping Professor Charmaine Gauci in her place.
This afternoon’s Covid-19 press conference began as all previous ones did, with Professor Gauci taking her seat and the interpreter appearing in a box in the left-hand corner of the screen.
However, just as the press conference started, the pair appeared to magically switch places.
“I’m free! Free at last!” exclaimed the interpreter, as her counterpart looking around in confusion and began banging on the invisible walls.
“The person you all thought was the Superintendent for Public Health is nothing more than an evil witch who imprisoned me in that box at the beginning of the pandemic. I am the true Superintendent, rightful guardian of Malta’s health, and the heir to King Fearn’s throne,” she declared.
The interpreter explained that, aside from trapping her in the box, Sorceress Gauci had also put a curse on her that rendered her unable to speak.
“All this time I’ve been trying to tell you that I was trapped and that she was a wicked witch, but you all got tricked by her charms,” she said, as Gauci continued to pace back and forth furiously, occasionally stopping to shake her fists at viewers.
Asked how she managed to escape, the interpreter said that, after many weeks of trying, she was finally able to cast an escaping spell using 5G.
“All those people you see on Facebook saying that 5G is bad are actually just Sorc. Gauci’s minions. She uses dark 4G magic and doesn’t want it to be replaced.
The interpeter said she will now use her 5G magic to cure Malta of Covid-19.
