“I’ll raze Qormi to the ground!” says Infrastructure Malta chief after council rejects flyover

Infrastructure Malta CEO Frederick Azzopardi has threatened to destroy the whole of Qormi, after the town’s local council rejected the government’s plan for a flyover.

Qormi’s seven councillors yesterday voted unanimously against the project on the Mrieħel bypass, which would take up several football pitches’ worth of agriculture land.

Azzopardi reacted furiously to the decision.

“Insolent fools! Did you really think a puny local council could stand in the way of Infrastructure Malta? Well, think again. My master has given me permission to reduce your entire town to rubble. We shall see how you like that,” Azzopardi scoffed, before climbing aboard his personal jet-black bulldozer and ramming into a rubble wall.

“Before the day is done, not a single building in this pathetic town will be left standing. My minions and I will then cover the entire area in flyovers that lead nowhere, because we can. Oh yes, and a one-metre patch of green wall, just to taunt you,” he added as he advanced on St Sebastian’s parish church.

“Let this be a warning to all those who seek to defy Lord Ian and Infrastructure Malta.”
