Thousands of Labour Party members are currently voting to decide whether Chris Fearne or Robert Abela will be the next Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici.
Mifsud Bonnici, affectionately known as KMB, was the prime minister who succeeded Dom Mintoff when the political giant stepped down in 1984 after 35 years at the helm of the Labourt party.
“As per Labour tradition, it’s important that we transition from a divisive, egomaniacal leader with a Messiah complex to one who will merely continue his predecessor’s controversial policies and not enact any desperately needed change,” Labour CEO Randolph Debattista told Bis-Serjetà after casting his vote.
Debattista would not be drawn on who his preferred new KMB was.
“I think both Chris and Robert have the potential to be great ineffectual prime ministers, before being replaced in a few short years. Both of them have been promising the earth in media interviews, which is a good sign they’ll simply stay on the same path without rocking the boat. As Labourites, we wouldn’t have it any other way,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Nationalist Party is currently voting on whether to have cheese or ham sandwiches at their next big party conference.
