Labour supporters unsure why they’re meant to hate trees now

Labour supporters who have spoken to Bis-Serjetà have expressed their uncertainty as to why they are supposed to hate trees now.

As people prepare to descend on Attard on Sunday to protest against the uprooting of hundreds of trees to make way for the Central Link project, Labour’s party media and online trolls are busy trying to discredit the demonstration and those attending it.

“Really, trees? OK I guess,” said lifelong Labour supporter Rita Bezzina, 42, from Paola.

“It’s just…trees are good aren’t they? I’m no expert and some of them give me hay fever, but I’m pretty sure they’re good for the environment,” she continued.

“I’ve spent the past 20 odd years hating anything ONE News tells me to hate without question, but this does seem a bit odd,” agreed her friend, Janice Borg.

“They must have discovered that trees can be Nationalists. That has to be it,” speculated Johann Schembri, 24, from Mosta.

“I mean they’re mostly located in Attard, which is so Nationalist that people’s Nationalistiness may have been absorbed by trees and plants too,” he added.

Not all Labour supporters were so skeptical, however.

“So when are we setting fire to Buskett?” asked one Labourite.
