A local racist is disappointed by the lack of new Covid-19 cases at the Ħal Far open centre.
Local racist Clint Zahra was speaking after Health Minister Chris Fearne announced this morning that 52 more people had tested positive for the virus. None of the new cases were found in the open centre, whose 1,000 residents were all placed under quarantine on Sunday after eight cases were found last week.
“I heard the rumours that were floating around and was excited to start blaming immigrants for the spread of Covid-19. So you can imagine what a letdown it was when they said that most of the new cases were Maltese people,” Zahra told Bis-Serjetà.
“Sure, a Somali and an Indian were among the 52, but that’s like being given a galletta after being promised a slice of my mum’s ross il-forn,” he added.
“I suppose I could be racist against Gozitans. They’re sort of foreign and I don’t understand their language.”
Despite his disappointment, Zahra said he was looking forward to when migrants start rioting.
“It won’t be long till they start complaining that they feel imprisoned and at risk, but it’s their own fault for living in cramped, squalid conditions that people like me have always insisted they should live in. When that happens, they should all be thrown in prison, because nothing bad can come of that,” he said.
Zahra also suggested that police should set up a special hotline that people can phone if they see a black person outside.
“Yesterday I saw one walking in Gżira. He was cleverly disguised in nice clothes, which he must have stolen from a Maltese man,” he claimed.
