Maltese woman a bit too excited about prospect of second wave

A Maltese woman appears to be a bit too excited about the prospect of a second wave of Covid-19.

Malta experienced its first significant spike in Covid-19 cases in months today, after health authorities reported a cluster of six new cases originated from a party that took place last weekend.

Reacting to the news, 31-year-old Natalie Fenech wrote on Facebook: “Second wave here we come!”

According to friends, this is not the first time Fenech has commented about a second wave.

“She wrote the same thing after the Floriana celebrations, the Black Lives Matter protest, the Daphne protest, when there was that case from a repatriation flight, and a bunch of other times. Honestly, it feels like she really wants a second wave,” Fenech’s friend Karen Zahra told Bis-Serjetà.

“If this is actually the start of a second wave, she’ll be so smug. Never mind all the other times she was wrong,” Zahra added.

“At this point I’m half-expecting her to travel to China, then come back and start coughing on everyone, just so that a couple of weeks later she can say she was right,” another friend said.

At the time of writing, Fenech was reportedly chanting, “Come on you virus!” on her roof.
