A Maltese woman has been taken to hospital suffering from severe shock, after she drove past only one car accident on her way to work this morning.
The 28-year-old woman from Marsascala arrived at her workplace in Sliema in a highly anxious state, trembling and hyper-ventilating.
When colleagues attempted to calm her down and asked her what had happened, she told them she only witnessed a single car accident in Msida, whereas she usually sees at least five collisions of varying severity every morning.
“She said it was only a minor bumper-to-bumper crash between two small cars, barely worth staring at as she drove past. I guess her mind just couldn’t handle the lack of chaos, poor thing,” said one colleague.
The woman was admitted to Mater Dei Hospital, where she was found to be suffering from shock. She was discharged an hour later after being treated with dash cam videos of car crashes in Russia.
In a statement, the police said they were investigating the lack of collisions on the roads.
“We advise people who start to feel anxious about the unusual serenity of their journey to drive past notorious accident hotspots,” they added.
