Man who snorts coke off Valletta bar toilets goes out wearing face mask

A man who regularly snorts cocaine off the toilet seats of bars in Valletta has gone out wearing a face mask.

Adrian Cauchi, a 29-year-old lawyer from Rabat, began wearing the face mask after the first cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus in Malta were confirmed over the weekend.

“I know the cases are isolated, but you can’t be too careful,” said Cauchi, who on Saturday night went out to several bars in Strait Street.

“All the coronavirus panic was getting me down, so I went to the bathroom, removed my mask and did a few lines off a toilet seat through a rolled-up 20-euro note the barmaid had just handed me as change. After that, I was buzzing and forgot all about the virus.”

Cauchi added that he believed his coke habit may also have health benefits.

“I’m not a doctor, but I reckon if I had any Covid-19 molecules in my nose, the cocaine molecules would have beat them up and thrown them out.”
