A man has admitted he would be in favour of holding a concert at Mnajdra if his favourite band was playing.
After it was announced that a DJ would be playing near the 5,000-year-old temple, Mark Sammut and hundreds of other people voiced their opposition to the event.
“I made sure to join in the Facebook dog-pile against the concert, but honestly if it was Muse that was playing, I’d be all over it,” he said.
“Watching Matt Bellamy belt out the lyrics of Knights of Cydonia through a massive PA system while standing on top of one of the temple’s pillars as the sun sets behind him would be frikkin’ amazing.
“But since I’ve never heard of this Denis Sulta guy and I hate dance music, I’m 100% against it. Terrible idea. Shame on you Heritage Malta!”
Meanwhile, Maltese band Tribali have released a statement saying how disappointed they were that they had never been asked to play at one of Malta’s ancient religious sites.
“It’s almost as if no one thinks our spiritual, ethereal, transcendental music is actually any good,” frontman Peter Paul Galea said.
