Michelle Muscat says she can relate to Pope Francis when he says he is God’s representative on earth.
The Prime Minister’s wife made the comments during an interview on ONE TV’s Stat Ta’ Fatt.
“When I met the Pope last month I told him ‘Your Holiness, you and I have something in common because I too was sent into the world by God to make people’s lives better, even though I have better anti-wrinkle cream than you’,” Muscat said.
She mentioned her charity work as one example of why God chose to bequeath her to humanity.
“I know I mention my philanthropy a lot, but as Jesus Christ himself said, if you don’t talk about the charity you do then it doesn’t count.”
“It’s not just that though. Even when I greet people with my genuine smile, they feel like they’re basking in warm sunlight on a winter’s day.”
Asked what she would be doing after her husband stepped down, Muscat said:
“I think I’ll do some travelling. There are so many unfortunate people around the world who have so far been deprived of my charming personality.
“Maybe I’ll do like Harry and Meghan and move to the US. I could become Melania’s new best friend. I’ll go on shopping trips with her and the Aliyev girls. Oh I can’t wait!”
