People all over Malta are hoping the girl in that Youtube advert finds out what the feminine of ‘gendus’ is really soon so she can stop interrupting their videos every two minutes.
“Please, please, someone send her the answer before I film myself blowing my brains out and send it to Vodafone to put in their next ad,” said Mark Caruana, 25, from Qrendi.
“It’s probably ‘gendusa’, I guess? I don’t know. She should get her parents to ask on the Facebook group ‘Kelmet Il-Malti’. Then again, they’ll get 50 incorrect answers and several patronising comments,” said Francesca Xuereb, 41, from St Paul’s Bay.
“Isn’t he the one with the big hair who plays for Arsenal? No not David Luiz. The other one,” suggested Andrew Borg, 38, from Birkirkara.
“I think it’s shameful that in Malta’s current agrarian society a little girl doesn’t know the Maltese word for such a common animal,” remarked Paul Galea, 62, from Mgarr.
“Has anyone thought to ask an actual female ox what’s she’s called? Didn’t think so. The bovine patriarchy strikes again,” said Stephie Falzon, 19, from Sliema.
“Hur dur something something Adblock,” said some smartass prick from Mosta.
The nation also collectively agreed that, while the ‘gendus’ girl intro was highly irritating, the ‘We’re going to Nannu Baba’ bit was cute, but not cute enough to interrupt their Photoshop tutorials.
