Maltese people are waiting with bated breath for the moment when the whole of Tigné Point sinks into the sea, after a cave under one of the peninsula’s towers collapsed recently.
The cave’s collapse was brought to light by developers MIDI, who now want to construct coastal defences to protect the buildings they themselves built on the coast.
Bis-Serjetà headed to Valletta to gauge people’s reactions to MIDI’s plans.
“I think we should all start drilling holes under the peninsula so the whole damn eyesore collapses,” said Shaun Bugeja, 28, from Naxxar.
“It’ll take coastal erosion centuries to completely wipe that luxury ghetto off the map, so maybe we should sacrifice a cow to Poseidon to speed things up a bit,” agreed Caroline Grech, 41, from Qrendi.
“Can we at least save Cinnabon at The Point?” implored Mandy Gauci, 33, from Sliema.
“It’s a good thing we aren’t entrusting these clowns with any other sites that have national heritage on them,” said Martin Fenech, 53, from Qormi.
