A priest accused of defiling a teenage girl has been condemned by his fellow clergymen for not limiting himself to having sex with pre-pubescent boys.
The unnamed 40-year-old priest was charged with having a sexual relationship with the girl while she was still a minor.
“If it’s true, he should be ashamed of himself. Everyone knows we take a solemn vow before God to only perform sex acts with young, angelic-looking boys,” one priest told Bis-Serjetà.
“This priest has done untold damage to the Church’s reputation. Now everyone thinks we go around molesting young girls. I just want to reassure people that the vast majority of priests find girls disgusting and would never think of having sex with them instead of with altar boys or orphans,” said another.
However, one clergyman suggested the Church should be more open to the idea of priests having sex with underage girls.
“If we want to carry on being relevant in today’s society, it’s important that we move with the times and allow pretty young girls to become priests’ temptations,” he said.
