Robert Mueller’s report on the alleged collusion between the Trump administration and Russia must immediately be published in its entirety, according to a staunch Maltese Labourite who lives in the US.
US Attorney General Bill Barr provided a four-page summary of Mueller’s findings to Congress and the media yesterday. The summary states that the investigation did not establish collusion.
But Labour supporter Reece Baldacchino says this isn’t enough.
“How are we, the citizens who paid for this investigation through our taxes, supposed to know the full picture if we aren’t given access to the whole report?” said 61-year-old Baldacchino, who lives in New York City.
“Just because Mueller couldn’t find hard evidence that would stand up in court, that doesn’t necessarily mean collusion didn’t take place.
“Even in the summary, Barr clearly states that “while this report does not conclude the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.”
“There needs to be complete transparency. Otherwise Trump and his lackeys will intentionally misinterpret the report and use it to whitewash themselves and rally their supporters.
“I’m just glad my beloved Joseph would never subvert democracy in such a way,” he said.
