Robert Abela considering resurrecting Lorry Sant

Karl Stennienibarra

Prime Minister Robert Abela is considering bringing back notorious Labour politician Lorry Sant from the dead.

Sant served as minister for sports and works under Dom Mintoff between 1971 and 1981. He died from cancer in 1995 aged 57, leaving behind a legacy of violence, corruption and blackmail.

“Sant paid a heavy price for his actions while he was minister. Does he deserve to rot in the deepest pits of Hell for eternity as Malta’s most reviled politician, just because he assaulted some people, made suspicious land deals, and was possibly implicated in a murder? Everybody deserves a second chance,” the Prime Minister said.

“Also I really want to ask him about the photos in that envelope he tabled in parliament in ’91.”

The Prime Minister said he had sought the advice of the Necromancer General as to whether Sant could be resurrected and co-opted into parliament once Chris Fearne vacates his seat to take up a new role in the European Commission.

“My knowledge of the dark arts is somewhat limited, but from what I understand, we will need to exchange Sant’s soul for another via a human sacrifice carried out under a new moon, which just so happens to be tonight. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to pick up my ceremonial robes and knife, and then head to a meeting with Aaron Farrugia.”
