‘What a slow news day’ lament One News reporters

Karl Stennienibarra

Reporters for One News have observed that today is turning out to be a slow news day.

Speaking to Bis-Serjetà, the reporters said they are struggling to find any newsworthy happenings.

“Aside from more Covid recoveries and a couple of admittedly amazing government initiatives, there doesn’t seem to be anything to write about. I’ve been sat at my desk all morning staring into thin air. At this rate, I may as well go home,” said reporter Edward Montebello.

“You’d think we’d enjoy days like today, because it means we don’t have to do anything. But when you’re as committed to reporting the truth as we are, you want to report on as much news as possible,” agreed colleague Kelly Peplow.

“Even the compilation of evidence ended after a couple of hours with no real headlines. Apparently a couple of randoms got called in for questioning by the police, but I’ve never heard of them. I suppose I could write another story about Jason Azzopardi. After all, if there’s one news organisation who has the right to call him out on corruption, it’s us,” said Colin Deguara.

“Guys! Guys! Ferris and Efimova have been charged with perjury. Day saved! yelled Stefan Bajada, whose announcement prompted cheers from the newsroom.
