Maltese men have said they are eager to find out more about the whiskies and wines mentioned in the Whatsapp chats between Yorgen Fenech, Joseph Muscat and Keith Schembri, and definitely not about images of women.
Yesterday it was reported that the three men exchanged over 900 messages on WhatsApp between January and October last year. Sources close to the investigation into the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia said several messages concerned whisky, food and women.
Bis-Serjetà headed to Valletta to gauge people’s reactions to the news.
“I really want to know more about the whiskies that were mentioned in these conversations. Were they Scotch, Irish, Bourbon, or maybe Japanese? I’m certainly not curious to know more details about the women they talked about.” – George Caruana, 28, Mellieha
“Who knows what sort of limited editions a man like Fenech could get his hands on? Let’s hope this information comes out in court, and not any lewd bragging about all the hot women he’s also got his hands on. I’m not interested in that at all.” Christopher Schembri, 42, Qrendi.
“I wonder if they discussed their favourite whiskey-based cocktails. I reckon Muscat is an Old Fashioned sort of guy. The possible existence of a sexy video of Rosianne Cutajar means absolutely nothing to me.” Mark Farrugia, 25, Zabbar.
“I’m sure the secret room mentioned in yesterday’s articles refers to a wine cellar where they all used to go to sample all the vintage bottles Fenech brought back from abroad, and not some kind of sex dungeon he would rent out to Muscat and Schembri. That’s a scurrilous rumour I have no time for.” – Matthew Sant, 32, Lija.
