The Civil Protection Department has issued an amber Franco Debono warning, the second-highest threat level possible.
The amber alert means a Xarabank appearance is now imminent.
Until earlier this week, the threat level was at Green (Dickhead Lawyer), where it had been since the 2013 general election.
But authorities seem to have been caught unaware by the torrent of blog posts in recent days, which culminated in Debono calling Joseph Muscat a corrupt idiot and claiming “My moment has arrived” like the hero of a third-rate musical.
“We should have paid more attention to the signs from the past few months. You should never take your eye off an ego that huge,” CPD director Emanuel Psaila told Bis-Serjetà.
It is unclear which signs Mr Psaila was referring to, although Debono had been involved in several high profile court cases in recent months.
“We foolishly assumed that what happened seven years ago was a once-in-a-lifetime event. My god, how could we have been so blind?” Mr Psaila said.
The people most at risk from Franco Debono are Labour supporters who cheered him on when he Fucked Shit Up for the Nationalist Party the last time around.
When asked what people should do to prepare for the next level of Franco Debono, Mr Psaila said they should stockpile popcorn and stay indoors on Friday night.
