‘I had plans this weekend,’ laments President

President George Vella has lamented that his plans for the weekend have been disrupted by the Nationalist Party’s leadership crisis.

As per the Constitution, the President has been forced to intervene in the bitter feud between Delia and the rebel PN MPs who voted to oust him.

“I actually had a lot planned for this weekend, you know? I was going to go for a swim in the morning, then read a book, watch some Netflix, and take Margaret out for a nice dinner with the vouchers,” Vella told Bis-Serjetà.

“Now I have to listen to a bunch of boring lawyers as they try to work out whether I’m obliged to tell Delia to sod off.”

Vella also complained about the vagueness of the Constitution.

“You would think the most important document in the country would be a bit more specific on what I have to do. But nope, I have to put my ‘Too Hot To Handle’ binge-watch on hold while I figure out how to deal with these bickering children who call themselves MPs,” he said.

“Mind you, at least I only have to deal with a metaphorical car crash, not an actual one like Marie Louise.”
