Ian Borg closes Marsa flyover after fit of jealousy

Infrastructure Minister Ian Borg has ordered the closure of the newly opened Marsa flyover, after reportedly feeling jealous at other motorists driving over it.

A source within the ministry said that, following the inauguration of the flyover on Friday evening, Borg became increasingly agitated over the weekend.

“He said he thought he could handle other people using the flyover, but then when he saw all those cars driving over it, he realised he wanted it all to himself and ordered us to close it again,” the source said.

People who attempted to drive across the flyover this morning were met with metal bollards and a sign stating that the stretch of road was closed indefinitely.

“I could see a man who looked a lot like Ian Borg crouching down and repeatedly kissing the tarmac,” one motorist who was stuck in traffic told Bis-Serjetà.

“He kept calling the flyover ‘baby’. He said he wouldn’t ever let anyone else drive over it again, and reassured it that Tal-Balal and Buqana didn’t mean anything to him,” claimed a worker who was still adding finishing touches to the roadside.
