Konrad Mizzi is an actual real devil, claims Man United mascot Fred The Red

Manchester United mascot Fred The Red has claimed Konrad Mizzi is a real demon, after meeting the Maltese Tourism Minister this weekend.

The Malta Tourism Authority announced last Friday that it had signed a deal with Manchester United to be its official destination partner for the next three years.

Following the announcement, an MTA delegation led by Konrad Mizzi attended United’s win against Leicester City at Old Trafford on Saturday.

“After the game, these guys from Malta came down to the pitch to take photos with the gaffer and the players,” the cute devil mascot told Bis-Serjetà.

“Then this tall, weird-looking guy walks over to me and in a deep voice says, ‘Well met, brother daemon. ‘Tis a while since last I spake with a fellow denizen of Hell. This surface life is grating, is it not? But rest assured our Lord Satan’s plans will soon be afoot and these pathetic mortals will tremble before His Infernal Majesty.”

“At first I thought maybe that’s how people in Malta speak, so I just nodded politely and did a little jig like I do for the young fans. But he just kept staring at me and I noticed a fiery glint in his eyes and a strong smell of sulphur in the air. ‘Bloody hell’, I muttered under my breath once he’d turned around to shake hands with Phil Jones. ‘This guy’s an actual real devil.'”

Fred The Red added that, since he is contractually obliged to not speak while wearing his costume, he was unable to warn the rest of the Manchester United staff out loud.

“I kept pointing at him, and then to myself, and then to the ground to try and show them where he came from, but everyone just laughed. Couldn’t they see that the pitch was scorched wherever he walked? The ground staff aren’t going to be happy about that when they come in on Monday.

“Then I had to stop because he turned back around and said, ‘Daemon Keith bids thee fond greetings also.'”

Meanwhile, Manchester United face Kazakhstani club FC Astana in the Europa League on Thursday. According to local media reports, several Astana players have been ruled out of the game after coming down with the plague.
